INFANT/TODDLER DAY CARE
Two state licensed facilities providing comprehensive day care for infants and or toddlers from the ages of two-weeks to twenty-three months.  The infant/toddler day care program is fee-for-service and provides a developmentally appropriate environment that nurtures each infants individual growth.

The Coronado Infant Center provides on site infant care for teen mothers enrolled in Norfolk Public Schools. Young parents are provided opportunities to learn parenting skills from qualified caregivers.  Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am - 3:00 p.m. This site serves approximately 12 infants age's two weeks through twelve months, September through June of each year.  For enrollment information call the Coronado Infant Center at (757) 852-4638.

The Infant/Toddler Day Care Program located at 1401 Tidewater Drive serves 32 children between the ages of two weeks and two years.  This facility and its services are available to the general public.  Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 6:30 am - 6:00 p.m. For further details, call the Infant/Toddler center at (757) 622-5998.

HEAD START PROGRAM Head Start(click here for additional information)
Income eligible three to five year old preschool children and their families are provided with a comprehensive child/family development program that meets the individual emotional, social, health, intellectual, nutrition and psychological needs of each child enrolled.  The Head Start Program operates five days a week, September through May.  Head Start operates part day and full day classrooms. CHILD DAY CARE
Licensed childcare services for working parents who seek quality day care for children from 2 1/2 through 12 years of age.  The programs include Preschool Kindergarten AM & PM; Before and After school programs and summer day camp.  Hours of operation are 6:30 am - 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information, call the Virginia Beach based HORIZONS UNLIMITED CENTER at (757) 490-6037 or the Norfolk based LEARNING CENTER at (757) 855-7436.

PROJECT DISCOVERY
Middle and High School students are provided with information, guidance and assistance on their choices of college, career options and financial aide resources.  While enrolled in Project Discovery, students also participate in field trips to various colleges and universities.  In many cases, the program participants are the first in their family to attend college.  For more information call the Project Discovery Program at (757) 858-1367.

YOUTH SERVICES
This program consists of educational programs that focus on substance abuse prevention for youths and their families.  Based in Virginia Beach, the Youth Services Program teaches drug abuse prevention, awareness, intervention, use/misuse, recognition and life skills such as self-esteem, self discipline and community awareness. Activities include field trips that will serve as culturally enlightening experiences. A computer lab will also be provided to teach different levels of computer skills. For more information,

K.I.P. CARE (Kids of Incarcerated Parents)
K.I.P. Care is designed to assist children of incarcerated mothers with individual and group counseling, cultural field trips, tutoring and other educational support activities.  The Program will also assist in developing parenting skills, life skills, job readiness and employment opportunities.  K.I.P. Care is a component of the Second Chance Program, which partners with the STOP Organization and Norfolk Sheriff's Department, Gethsemane Community Fellowship Baptist Church and Norfolk's Department of Social Services.  For more information, contact (757)664-4281.

YOUTH IN CRISIS (YIC)
This program is designed to address educational and social deficiencies and enable youth to re-enter school or achieve the GED.  The YIC classroom program operates five hours daily, five days a week.  For more information, contact (757)491-1213.
